Maribor Public Library follows general guidelines when it comes to including users with special needs:

partnerships are established with various stakeholders in the local environment (disability associations, Slovene Philanthropy, Slovenian Institute of Adult Education, Hearing and Speech Center Maribor, other educational institutions, day-care centers, hospitals, representatives of people with disabilities association, etc.),

people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups are involved in the design of library services,

services are planned on the basis of an analysis of the communities in which the library branches are placed,

training librarians and developing specific skills for working with special groups (hearing impairments, deafness, dyslexic, etc.),

reacting proactively to social developments, adapting our programs to the target population: e.g. migrants, etc.,

ensure that services are free of charge.

Regular services and programs provided for vulnerable groups by the Maribor Public Library are either continuous or intermittent, depending on the circumstances.
